Whew! Between the Siempo postmortem and this One Nation retrospective, I feel like I’m complete with my responsibilities to the two major professional experiences that defined my recent years.

If we’ve caught up recently or you followed me on social media in 2020, you likely know I was involved with a startup political party called One Nation. It was a TRIP. Profound. Chaotic. Humbling. Educational. Controversial. Beautiful memories and relationships. The most life I’ve ever metabolized in a 7.5 month time period.

In February I sat down to write one piece about my personal experience, and another on my analysis of One Nation as a political vehicle, though I haven’t found the energy to finish the analysis piece on my own. Now that it has been 13 months since I wound myself out of the organization, I feel compelled to publish what I do have, and close the chapter.

So here’s my story, and standby for the analysis. I’m in conversation with some folks about co-writing that, as it feels important that the collective learns from a high-caliber millennial team that tried to start a political party in 2020 centered around love…

There’s SO much more to this story. I imagine some readers may want to know more about the results, the other characters in the story, and the lessons we learned as an org. I’ve communicated an abridged, PG-13 version of my personal experience. Please feel free to approach me for more and I’d be happy to share what I feel capable and comfortable sharing. Keeping in mind that however rich my story is, it’s only one shade. I hope the other core team members will share their stories someday. Writing history is fun!

At the end of the day, I feel grateful, humbled, inspired. One Nation carried an important vision that best represents the future I want to live in. I am proud of putting my time, money and labor where my mouth is in this time between worlds.
